Doctrinal Teachings & Beliefs
- The Godhead.
- We believe in the doctrine of the Trinity consisting of:
- God, the Father, of whom are all things and we by Him.
- Jesus Christ, the Son, in whom are all things and we in Him.
- The Holy Ghost (I john 5:7)
- These three are distinct persons, yet one in unity (John 17:21).
- We believe in the doctrine of the Trinity consisting of:
- Christ as Savior and Lord
- Christ was born of a virgin (Isaiah 9:6)
- He was crucified for our sins
- Resurrected for Justification (I Corinthians 15:3-4)
- Sits on the right hand of God, from whence He will return to judge the quick and the dead (II Timothy 4:1)
- In His death, He was made an offering for the sins of all mankind (Hebrews 9:28)
- Those who come to Him by repentance from sin and faith in His blood are redeemed from the world, born anew and reconciled to God, the Father of all living (II Corinthians 7:10)
- Upon profession of faith in Christ and a desire of obedience to His word, believers are candidates for water baptism, which shall be by immersion.
- The Baptismal Formula shall be in the “Name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19)
- As our Savior and Lord, He will keep us until the final day of redemption if we abide in His word (I Peter 1:5)
- The Church
- The church of Jesus Christ consists of all born again believers who follow a Holy Life (I Corinthians 12:13)
- The particular members of this church or body are those who have experienced salvation in the above manner and who subscribe to the doctrinal teachings, as herein described, and who support this church by regular attendance, except when hindered by sickness.
- The financial program of the church shall be by tithes and offerings on a voluntary basis as God has prospered us to give to His Holy cause (Malachi 3:10; I Corinthians 9:14).
- Infilling of the Spirit (Acts 1:7-8)
- The believer who has been born again and cleansed or sanctified from sin shall be a candidate for the baptism of the infilling of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:4; Joel 2:28-32). His experience is attended by the manifestation of speaking with tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4; I Corinthians 14; Mark 16: 12-18). We believe this experience is for the church today, and on through until the return of our Lord (Acts 2:39). It is the putting on of the whole armour of God (Ephesians 6:11). It is an induement of power for the service in which God calls us in the work of His Kingdom.
- Signs Following Believers…by the power of God
- We believe in divine healing according to Mark 16 and James 5:14
- We believe in all supernatural signs, divinely inspired, as practiced by the Apostles, and set forth in God’s Word (Hebrews 2:4; Mark 16:17-18; etc.).
- However, we do not advocate or endorse bringing snakes or reptiles into the house of God, and believe it unscriptural and contrary to sound doctrine.
- The Return of Christ
- We believe in the literal return of the Lord to this earth (Matthew 24:27-30; II Thessalonians 2:1-3; I Thessalonians 4:16).
- Future Rewards and Punishment
- We believe in Eternal Life for the righteous in a place of eternal happiness called paradise or Heaven (Romans 6:23, 2:8).
- The eternal damnation of the wicked, who will be punished with fire and brimstone forever because of their rejection of Salvation (Romans 6:23, 2:8; Matthew 25:46; Psalms 9:17)
- The Millennial Reign of Christ with His saints for a thousand years, according to Revelation 20:1-4. During this time, Satan will be bound in the bottomless pit. After this, he will be released for a time to practice deception on the earth and deceived the inhabitants (Revelation 20:1-9). After this the world will be destroyed by fire (II Peter 3:10), and there will be a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness (II Peter 3:13).
- The Holy Scriptures
- We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and are therefore the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to man. The scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning, and all issues of the interpretation and meaning shall be determined by the pastor. The King James Version of the Bible shall be the official and only translation used by the church. (2 Tim 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21).
- Human Sexuality
- We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between one man and one woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance. (Gen 2:24; Gen 19:5, 13; Gen 26:8-9; Lev 18:1-30; Rom 1:26-29; I Cor 5:1, 6:9; I Thess 4:1-8; Heb 13:4)
- We believe that Scriptural marriage or union is only the joining of one man and one woman. (Gen 2:24; Rom 7:2; I Cor 7:10; Eph 5:22-25)
